In Memory of Jason Martin

In Memory of Jason Martin (Green Castle Member)
Jan. 29, 1970 - Feb. 28, 2008

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of...wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Thanks, Pete

The only thing is, I wish we had a picture of Jason "hovering" in the Citabria. On windy days, it was his favorite thing to do. He would climb up and fly into the wind, then trim to fly as slowly as he could. There were days he came close to flying backwards.

Jason took a lot of pictures from the air. I think we have some video of the pumpkin drop from him. I don't know how much footage we have of him in front of the camera.
