1st annual Green Castle Pumpkin Drop. What a perfect day! All of the airplanes were washed by a Green Castle member who was up at 3a.m. to wash the planes for the days event. The aircraft were looking great!
Aircraft lining up for departure. There were 3 to 4 aircraft in the pattern for about 3 straight hours.
Timing is everything! 300 feet, 50 - 80 knots, and a 50 gallon barrel to hit with a 10 inch pumpkin. Not as easy as it looks!
Don and Rita took several bombing passes in the C150!
Approximately 50 people were in attendance. The sun was to our back, the temperature was about 60 degrees, and everyone enjoyed the fun entertainment. Bob cooked burgers and members brought food/treats for everyone.
Just a lazy, relaxing afternoon hanging out on the 100LL tank and "Hangar Talking"
Many tail draggers took part in the event
Rick Trieber returning from a bombing run in that beautiful red aircraft.KCRG TV 9 was there to film the event and to interview members. Check out the 10:00p.m. news to catch the event tonight on TV, Sunday, Nov. 4th, 2007.
We will look forward to this being an annual event. Big thanks goes out to Tim Scheer & Don Nelson for organizing the event and getting the word out to the members.
